Detachment is a mobile installation that hangs from the ceiling, featuring dynamic elements inspired by surrealism and kinetic sculptures. The blue cloud components represent distortion and perception. Just as we interpret abstract shapes in clouds—duck, boat, etc.—we often struggle to fully understand what we see on screens. This distortion mirrors how we consume digital media, seeing fragmented or manipulated information. The eyes in the installation represent our constant gaze at screens and how we absorb information, often in a detached or surface-level way. As we consume information passively, we lose touch with our authentic emotions, desires, and physical selves. By portraying both the chaos of media and moments of stillness, it encourages viewers to reflect on how media influences them and prompts a search for reconnection with the self amidst the noise. Ultimately, "Detachment" is a meditation on the cost of constant media consumption and the importance of reclaiming authenticity in a hyper-connected world.
